Poached By Saints is a café rooted in Maidenhead’s local rhythm, offering more than just your standard coffee stop. Situated on Wessex Way, it blends the casual bustle of a neighborhood meeting point with the flair of a thoughtfully crafted menu. This spot is often a hub for morning catch-ups and relaxed brunches, especially popular with locals looking for a reliable place to start the day or take a midday pause.

The café atmosphere strikes a comfortable balance—clean and tidy with a sense of openness that invites conversation or quiet moments over a cup. It’s easy to imagine arriving here on a weekday morning, grabbing a latte, and settling in with a book or catching up with fellow parents mid-morning, as regulars frequently do. The staff maintain a friendly, welcoming approach, which adds to the laid-back vibe without losing efficiency, although occasionally service can feel a bit rushed.

The menu reflects a strong focus on breakfast and brunch classics with a few twists. Offerings range from English Breakfast and Eggs Benedict to veggie and vegan-friendly options like the Slimmers Breakfast with vegan sausage, alongside comfort picks such as the Chicken Burger or the Beef Burger topped with fried egg, chips, mushrooms, and sausage. The coffee is decent, holding up well enough for everyday visits, though some might find it less exceptional compared to other spots under the same Saints family umbrella.

Prices here sit a notch above other cafés in the area, which can influence the overall feel of value. Still, the quality of food and the café’s clean, tidy interior give it a sense of purpose that many find worth the trade-off. Those who come for bigger group meals might notice the occasional pacing issues, like plates being cleared before everyone is finished, but this seems more an exception than the norm.

Dog owners will appreciate the pet-friendly approach, adding to the inclusive, local-minded atmosphere. Poached By Saints fits best as a weekday and weekend brunch destination for locals who appreciate straightforward, well-prepared dishes and a setting that feels familiar without being overly formal or rushed. Morning through early afternoon visits tend to capture the café at its busiest and most social.

Food is good, coffee is ok but prices a bit too high for the area (and what you get). They're part of the Saints family so we expected the coffee to be a bit better. Food is good and you can see they're making an effort. The issue overall is price and to a lesser extent service. Prices are circa 20% higher than what we'd deem as acceptable and for the price (in the area) - you should expect more. Lastly, don't expect any deals, no coffee + croissant or discounts. We visited on opening day and even then - nada.

Food was tasty and fast service. Only issue is plate was taken before everyone at the table was finished eating.

One of my favorites spots! I’ve become a regular and you can often find me grabbing a morning coffee or a midday brunch with my fellow Mums. Always great customer service and the food never disappoints.

A really lovely experience at Poached and the first time visiting. I am a big fan of Saints and so was eager to visit here and had high hopes and I was not disappointed. Went for breakfast to celebrate a birthday. The food was great, a lovely atmosphere, the staff were friendly, helpful and very welcoming and as a bonus we could also bring our well behaved dog with us - who also loved the bacon (in very small quantities). I did not think the food was overpriced because it was great quality and the portions were generous and compared to other locations nearby they are slightly cheaper for the standard of the place itself. However, I go out for breakfast as a treat so maybe it is harder to judge. The coffee was great too! I would recommend that you try this place!

Met with a friend for a cheeky brunch as this was a halfway spot for us. Did not disappoint this cafe. Will defo be coming back at some point. We had the smashed avo & poached eggs on sourdough bread. Eggs cooked perfectly. £30 for brunch and coffee. Sunday midday, slightly busy, Atmosphere chilled, clean restaurant, staff very polite, plenty of free parking outside, portion were good and food tasted very nice. Keep up the brilliant cooking
